Doing our bit to help Healthcare Workers at NHS Hospital

Assima supports  NHS Hospital with training technology during the Coronavirus pandemic.

Hospitals are on the front line of the coronavirus pandemic. Despite the overload of activity they face, they must also reorganize their way of working in order to respect social distancing measures for both staff and patients, and this is ultimately leading to changes in work processes.

Assima is delivering its patented cloning technology to University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust (UHB) on a pro-bono basis to support the organization’s ongoing and new training requirements during the Coronavirus pandemic.

Assima provides a smart solution for UHB’s Training Team, who can no longer deliver face-to-face training sessions to colleagues at the Trust in order to adhere to the Government’s directives around social distancing and working from home where possible. Coupled with the Trust’s existing e-learning platform, Moodle, Assima allows the UHB team to continue rolling out essential training on new and upgraded clinical IT systems, such as its Patient Administration System.

Assima works by replicating systems to allow users to test them in a lifelike, anonymized, and controlled environment – helping to increase familiarity, strengthen system knowledge and increase both speed and competency before an organization adopts a new or upgraded version.

Brendan Scullion, EMEA Sales Director from Assima, said: “We are a world leader in user adoption and our solution trains and mentors end-users through the full life cycle of a system roll-out, from user acceptance to optimal performance. We’re honoured to be able to support UHB at this difficult time and to play a part in maintaining the delivery of essential training packages for NHS professionals.”

Deborah McKee, Head of EPR and Digital Programme at UHB, said: “In this unprecedented time we needed to review our well-established training delivery programme and find an innovative alternative to enable us to continue to deliver vital training to thousands of staff at the Trust. Assima will help us to do this and will enable the teams to support the ongoing provision of first-class patient care.”
