Meet Our Assima Stars
For me, curriculum design is all about problem-solving through storytelling. At Assima, I help organizations make learning new technology feel less overwhelming, drawing on my background in higher education. I start with what learners actually need to do on the job and work backward to training that gets them there efficiently. Whether I’m applying frameworks like ADDIE or Understanding by Design, building post-training practice, or mentoring designers new to our system, my goal is the same: respect people’s time, design for accessibility, and take the frustration out of learning.
A recent project with a hospitality client captures this well. Their employees needed to learn a complex property management system, but traditional training was time-consuming and offered little hands-on practice. Using Assima’s ability to clone live systems, we built realistic, scenario-based simulations where learners could safely practice real tasks. The result was seat time cut in half, with employees still confident and job-ready. Projects like that, along with a talented teammate whose creativity makes every project stronger, are what I enjoy most.
Beyond Assima, my favourite role is being a mom. My husband and I have an active toddler and a dog who keep us on our toes, and we love traveling and getting outdoors whenever we can.
